Summer Open Days

As many Year 6 children (and some Year 7s) will have missed out on their school trip to Warning Zone due to Coronavirus restrictions, we have decided to open up Warning Zone for a few days during the summer holidays.

The Visit

Children currently in Year 6 or Year 7 that did not attend Warning Zone with their school are invited to join us to learn about risks and consequences and experience our interactive zones.  The visit will be from 9.30am to 2.30pm (registration from 9.15am) with time for a lunch break.  This will enable the children to explore both our safety areas: the safety zone which looks at fire safety in the home, the dangers of electricity and building sites, alcohol and anti-social behaviour, personal safety, water safety, arson, road safety and railways; and the innovative e-safety zone which helps to equip the children with important knowledge of potential online risks such as grooming, phishing, cyber-bullying, posting photographs online and the impact of their digital footprint.

Members of the Police and Fire Service will also be present for part of the day.  Children, parents and carers are very welcome to explore the vehicles and chat to officers to find out more about what they do in the community and how they help to keep us all safe.

Parent/Carers Workshops

There will also be workshops available for parent/carers outlining the important messages we deliver to the children, with tips and advice on how to reinforce these messages at home.  Parents will also get the opportunity to have a look around our impressive facility themselves.
