We hold parent evenings!

At Warning Zone, we believe that it is just as important to engage with parents as it is with the children. Throughout the year, we hold various parent evening (organised with schools) which gives parents to opportunity to look around of facility and to ask any questions about social media apps, online gaming and much more. Where possible, we also try and arrange an external speaker to speak on a given topic and provide helpful advice and tips. Previous speakers have included Lisa Wood and Samantha Hancock from Leicestershire Police.

If you would like to arrange a parents' evening then please contact Richard, our Operation Manager, on 0116 262 9739 or email him at: opsmanager@warningzone.org.uk. Alternatively, use the enquiry form on our 'Contact Us' page.

See below comments of a previous evening by a parent from Queniborough C of E Primary School:

I would urge all parents to visit the Warning Zone, I was expecting just a chat about social media but got to learn so much more. The Warning Zone is set up for children to see how their actions can quickly turn into an emergency situation from fire in the kitchen, to drinking in the graveyard with friends, it was eye opening!

The presentation by Lisa Wood from Leicestershire Police was quite frightening, but I'm so please I hear it and learnt from it. Hearing how easy it is for vulnerable children to get sucked into sending personal images and how quickly it can get out of control was awful but the tips I got from it were really useful.

This parent received tips on: trusted adults, privacy settings, public wifi, internet use and supervision, online games, parental controls, photos, and appropriate content and age for gaming.
